Ad spend / Golden Stiletto’s / ruling the world

So it’s official, online ad spend has overtaken TV. We’ve all been talking about it for what seems like forever but now the day hath come. At the Golden Stiletto Awards last night some innovative examples of advertising in the digital space were out in force, it seems there’s no end to the possibilities for this medium. Now we just need to see an improvement in measurement and digital really will be ready to take over the world.

Roome sponsor Glug!

Hopefully some of you will already have signed up to come along to the 11th Glug, happening this Thursday 25th June from 6pm at The Queen of Hoxton. Roome Consulting are very happy to be sponsoring the event by way of bangers and other fine fodder for the BBQ on the roof, and we hope there will be even more random chat and merriment than ever. To add to the fun the Glug boys have invited eight illustrators who’ll be working on the stairwell and roof creating bespoke t-shirts, so bring along a blank to get some free original art-T’s to take home. With that and the special Glug punch on offer, it’s shaping up to be a pretty special evening…

All I want for Christmas…

Last night the Roome Consulting massive made haste to the ‘big Christmas Glug’ at the Bodhi Gallery on Brick Lane. Thanks to Nick Clement and co for such a marvellous party and big congratulations to Paul Rayment who fought off stiff competition to win the ‘All I Want For Christmas Is…’ competition. Brief2008

Roome are wetting their yellow pants with happiness to be sponsoring Brief2008

This semi-serious social event will bring together teams of young planners, account people, designers and creatives from digital or integrated agencies to answer and present back a brief in two hours, probably under the influence of alcohol.

Brief2008 will be held on Thursday 17th July 2008 at the Design Council on Bow Street, and has the following confirmed judges:

Iain Tait (Founder, Planning/Creative Partner, Poke)

Amelia Torode (Head of VCCP Digital)

Ben Milligan (Head of Planning, Holler)

Richard Knight (Creative Partner/Founder, Mission21)

Rachel Lawlan (Director of Integrated Strategy, DLKW)

This event will be a chance to discover what kind of thinking comes from people from different backgrounds as well as a good excuse to socialise with like-minded keeners.

A few months ago we introduced one of our top freelancers to Amnesty International, with his knowledge of social networking he helped them launch UNSUBSCRIBE

New human rights campaign focused on “war on terror”. Lots of social media tools - video widgets, slideshow widgets, buttons, address book importer, email actions, a flickr photo gallery, links to bloggers and social networks - The idea being that ‘good actions are infectious’ so the main navigation is what other people have done or are doing. With 170,000 users already they are aiming for a million, it will only take a second but the potential impact on the “ war on terror” is collasol , if you do one thing to …………………………. unsubscribe
